It aims to encourage women to reveal their secret diet confessions. And clearly Mel is wearing her favourite snack on her sleeve.
The Lancashire lass got her big break back in the 90s in the Boddington's beer adverts, as the beautiful brunette with the broad Northern accent. 
Now the mother-of-two, who presented The Big Breakfast and Today With Des and Mel, is set for a return to TV screens at the end of the month.
In Melanie Sykes' Mum Makeover for the Bio Channel, the 40-year-old whisks a deserving mother off from the school gates for the day to get a makeover of her dreams.
The show sees Mel surprise a deserving mum at the school gates and whisk her off for the makeover of her dreams from a crack team of top experts, before dropping her back on the school run – to see if her shocked kids still recognise her.
Mel lives in North London with her two sons Roman, eight, and Valentino, six, by her ex-husband, Italian actor Daniel Caltagirone. She is now dating Paul O' Grady show producer James Abrams.
She has said of her new man: 'It’s going really well and he is brilliant with my two sons who like him very much. He is one of the good guys.
'He is fantastic and very Northern to the point where he is bringing out all my Northernness - not that I need much help in that department.'
