Konkona, Raima, Mahi in India’s first erotic film

With a slew of talented actresses like Konkona Sen Sharma, Mahi Gill, Shahana Goswami and Raima Sen, director Vinay Shukla is ready with India's first film in the erotic genre, Mirch. Shocking! Well, that’s what the director too has to say about his film.

“Mirch is India’s first film in the erotic genre”, the director is quoted as saying. Releasing on December 10, Mirch tells a story of a scriptwriter played by Shreyas Talpade. The film has four stories and all deal with one storyline, “A woman is caught red-handed with her lover by her husband and yet, she manages to wriggle out of it scot-free!” The movie is a celebration of womanhood, and at a deeper level, it is about gender equality in relationship.

According to Shukla, who has earlier directed the critically-acclaimed film Godmother, Mirch is a sex-comedy but is not slapstick like many other Bollywood films on adultery. Its humour is more about wit and intelligence. Ace filmmaker Kundan Shah says the film is erotically stunning while Naseeruddin Shah believes it’s an ‘unashamedly lusty film’.

The movie also has other interesting characters like Boman Irani, Tisca Chopra, Arunonday Singh, Rajpal Yadav, and Ila Arun.
